When Sarah Platt was badly injured in a joyriding accident in a car driven by Aidan Critchley and stolen from Ken Barlow, her recuperation in Weatherfield General took several weeks. During this time, her friendship with Candice Stowe, previously strained because of Aidan, was cemented again. They firmly pledged to stay away from boys in the future as they were too troublesome, until that is a Young Doctor in the hospital passed by and instantly weakened Candice's resolve.
