Yootha Joyce (born "Yootha Joyce Needham" on 20th August 1927 in Wandsworth, London; died 24th August 1980 in Marylebone, London) appeared as Monica Nolan in A Big Hand For A Little Lady, an episode of Turn out the Lights, the short-lived second spin-off of Coronation Street, transmitted in January 1967.

She successfully auditioned for a place at RADA in 1944 and upon leaving the establishment in early 1946, toured the UK with several repertory theatre groups before becoming a member of Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop.

Best remembered as Mildred Roper in the sitcom Man About the House and its spin-off George & Mildred, her other television credits included roles in Brothers in Law, Z Cars, Steptoe and Son, Dixon of Dock Green and Me Mammy (with Milo O'Shea).

Film roles included Sparrows Can't Sing, A Place to Go, The Pumpkin Eater, Die! Die! My Darling!, Catch Us If You Can, Kaleidoscope, A Man for All Seasons, Stranger in the House, Our Mother's House, Charlie Bubbles, Fragment of Fear, All the Right Noises, The Road Builder, Burke & Hare, Nearest and Dearest, Never Mind the Quality: Feel the Width, Steptoe and Son Ride Again, Man About the House and George and Mildred.

On stage, she appeared in productions of Woman of the Year, A Christmas Carol, The Hostage, Fings Ain't Wot They Used T'Be, The Man in the Glass Booth and Boeing Boeing.
