The Woman was a passenger on Manchester's Metrolink tram system who alighted at Weatherfield North station. There, she saw a man who had collapsed on the platform and who was showing no signs of breathing. Back on the tram, she had noticed a woman in a nurse's uniform and ran out of the station after her to obtain her help. Unbeknownst to her, the nurse was Leanne Battersby who had stolen the uniform from Aggie Bailey's washing line and was using it as a disguise to carry out drug deliveries on behalf of local crime boss Harvey, who had been threatening her and her stepson Simon Barlow to comply with his wishes.
With absolutely no medical qualifications to her name whatsoever, Leanne hesitated to re-enter the station and on the threshold turned and fled, yelling at the aghast woman to call an ambulance. Later, Leanne was horrified to read in the Weatherfield Gazette that the man had died of a heart attack.
