Wiltshire is a county in the south-west of England. Landlocked by six other counties, it covers 1,346 square miles and has a population of 684,000 people. Its county town is Trowbridge. It is best known for containing some of the most famous prehistoric sites in the UK including Stonehenge, Avebury stone circle, West Kennet long barrow and Silbury Hill.
In Coronation Street recently-widowed Emily Bishop enjoyed a painting and sketching holiday in the county in September 1978.
