William Elliott was the husband of Amelia Elliott and father of Fred and Beryl Elliott.
In the 1930s, William met Amelia Cartwright and they married. The couple had two children, Fred and Beryl.
In 1994, it was revealed that both William and Amelia had passed away sometime prior as their son Fred arrived in Coronation Street, Weatherfield to confront Ken Barlow who was researching the murders of Fred's grandmother and her lover at the hands of Bernard Cartwright. Wanting his family's dark history to stay buried, Fred threatened Ken with legal action unless he stopped his pursuit of knowledge.
