Walter Alfred Thomas (born 28th October 1905 in Aston, Birmingham, died 16th October 1990 in Kenton, London) appeared on Coronation Street in March 1980 as the commissionaire of the Assembly Rooms, on duty when Annie Walker attended a function at the venue.

His other credits included roles in Callan, Softly Softly: Task Force, Father Brown, All Creatures Great and Small, Fox, Together, Worzel Gummidge, The Woman in White, The Barchester Chronicles, Reilly: Ace of Spies, Casualty, The Singing Detective, The Bretts and Hot Metal.

On stage, he appeared in productions of Ten Green Bottles, Grand National Night, The Touch of Fear, My Fair Lady, Who Goes Bare?, Birds of Paradise and Jack and the Beanstalk.
