Wales and North West Television, also known as "WWN" and "Teledu Cymru", was the last of the original ITV stations to be awarded a regional franchise and began broadcasting on Friday 14th September, 1962.

The station was the least successful of the ITV companies, having a small, rural population to cover in the mountainous inner region of Wales and also financially difficult restrictions imposed on it in the form of a quota of ten hours of Welsh language programming that it had to produce using its own facilities each week. It was the only ITV station that ever failed, closing on 26th January 1964, its area being taken over by Television Wales and the West who retained the "Teledu Cymru" name for its output.

WWN broadcast Coronation Street from Episode 184 (17th September 1962) to Episode 325 (22nd January 1964).
