Virginia Denham (born 1948 in Bromley, Kent) appeared on Coronation Street intermittently between September 1991 and February 1995 as Dr Carr, the headmistress of Codrington School, where Victoria Arden was a boarder.
Her other credits include roles in Sergeant Cork, Follyfoot, The Jensen Code, Marked Personal, Minder, Buddy, EastEnders, London's Burning, The Bill, Big Women, Casualty and Doctors, along with the films Clash of Loyalties and The Haunted.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Henry IV, Oedipus Tyrannos, Antigone, Oedipus at Colonus, The Dybbuk, Artists and Admirers, Hamlet and Macbeth for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other works include Plaza Suite, The Wind in the Willows, Suddenly Last Summer and the world premiere of Jim Cartwright's play A Christmas Fair in 2012.
