Vin Welch (died 28th September 2021 in Durham) appeared on Coronation Street in November 1998 as Bob Barnes, father of the late Des and in attendance at his son's funeral.
His other credits include roles in The Bill; Auf Wiedersehen, Pet; Heartbeat; Distant Shores; Inspector George Gently and the TV movies The Moth and Clay, and for many years worked as a top drag queen in the bars and clubs in the north of England.
He is the father of former Street actress Denise Welch and appeared alongside her in Episode 4515.
