Her career as an actress began as a voluntary helper with small Lancashire repertory company and she played the regular role of Marion Yeats in Coronation Street between February 1982 and December 1983. Over ten years previously, she played the small part of Mark Brittain Warehouse worker Carol Benton in June and December 1971.
