Valerie Georgeson (born 8th November 1945 in South Shields) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in January 1974 as Jill Barrett, an old friend of Janet Barlow; and she returned to the programme in May 1977 as Elaine Dennett, a work colleague and lover of Alan Howard.
Her other credits include roles in Please Sir!, Second City Firsts, Carrie's War, Intimate Strangers, The Stars Look Down, When the Boat Comes In, Within These Walls, Scene, Emmerdale Farm, The Bill and The Tide of Life.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Blithe Spirit and Ring Round the Moon.
On the other side of the camera, she found success as a writer on Angels, Our John Willie, Juliet Bravo, Crown Court, Gems, EastEnders, Jonny Briggs, Dramarama, Families, Eldorado, The Animals of Farthing Wood, A Twist in the Tale and The Tribe.
