The Transplant Surgeon worked in Weatherfield General and carried out a transplant operation in February 2018 when Aidan Connor donated one of his kidneys to his half-sister Carla after she suffered acute failure. With the two dressed for their operation, she got the pair to sign their final consent forms.
Before he was taken into pre-op, the surgeon spoke to an emotional Aidan asking him if he had any concerns and if he was okay to continue to theatre. She stressed the importance of him understanding that if he had changed his mind for any reason there would be absolutely no judgement made of him and they would never disclose that it was his decision to pull out of the transplant. Aidan, suffering undisclosed mental stresses that would lead to his suicide three months later, stressed that he wanted to carry out the transplant and that she should proceed.
