When The Joinery bar under the viaduct on Viaduct Street exploded during Peter Barlow's stag night, the Driver of the tram heading towards the overhead viaduct pressed a button to warn other trams about the incident and attempted to stop, but ended up derailing and crashing into the corner shop on Coronation Street, with the other end of the carriage crashing into The Kabin. When police, ambulances and fire fighters arrived on the scene, they managed to get the driver from the wreckage still alive, and he was taken away in an ambulance.
