Tony Maudsley (born 30th January 1968 in Liverpool) appeared in Coronation Street in July 1995 as Bailey after previously appearing as an extra in the programme. He returned to the programme to play the role of George Shuttleworth, son of Archie Shuttleworth, in September 2020.
The acting role of Bailey was one of Maudsley's first since his training at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Since then he has appeared in many television and film roles including Queer as Folk 2, City Central, Where the Heart Is, Peak Practice, Rose and Maloney, Foyle's War, Eyes Down, The Street, The Royal, Heartbeat, Blandings, The Job Lot and Holby City. From 2011 he played the regular role of Kenneth Du Beke in Benidorm, continuing in the role until the show's cancellation in 2018. In 1998, he won the Best Newcomer award from The Royal Television Society for his portrayal of Stefan Kisko in the made-for-TV movie A Life For A Life and was also nominated in the Best Actor category for the same role.
On the big screen he appeared in Sleepy Hollow, The Nine Lives of Tomas Katz and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
