Tom Georgeson (born 8th August 1937 in Liverpool) appeared intermittently on Coronation Street between October 1974 and March 1976 as Weatherfield Gazette reporter/photographer Eddie Royle.
He has also appeared in Doctor Who and also had a part in the final episode ever of the seminal police series Z Cars in 1978. He first came to widespread public attention for his role as Dixie Dean in the Play for Today: Blackstuff and its 1982 follow-up, award-winning series The Boys from the Blackstuff. From thereon in he has appeared in regular roles in many major series such as Juliet Bravo, Scully, The Last Place on Earth, The Manageress, G.B.H., Casualty, Between the Lines, Liverpool 1, Doctors, Bleak House, Justice and The Hollow Crown.
On the big screen, he had a part in the highly successful 1988 film A Fish Called Wanda where his character's name of "Georges Thomason" was a play on words on his own name.
Stage productions include roles in Henry IV, Hamlet, Henry V, The Revenger's Tragedy, The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, The Relapse, All's Well That Ends Well and King Baby for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Other works include The Way of the World, The White Devil, The Merchant of Venice, Cyrano de Bergerac, A Woman Killed With Kindness, The Rules of the Game, Danton's Death, Jumpers, Daddy's Girl, Rose, Hiawatha, The Country Wife, Spookhouse, Dealer's Choice, Frozen, Lulu and The Good Hope.
