Toby Michael Hadoke (born 2nd January 1974 in Bridgnorth, Shropshire) appeared on Coronation Street in four roles:
- The vicar of All Saints Church who officiated at the wedding ceremony of Curly Watts and Emma Taylor in December 2000
- Solicitor Chris Baxter, who represented Cilla Brown when she (falsely) accused Rita Sullivan of causing ABH against her son Chesney in January 2004
- A doctor who prescribed Roy Cropper a course of sleeping tablets following an assault by Tony Gordon in November 2009
- Fergus Dunford, a traffic warden and neighbour of Izzy Armstrong, appearing between July and November 2021.
He was educated at Ludlow CE School and the town's sixth form college before going on to read English and Drama at Manchester University. He is particularly well known for his work on the Manchester comedy circuit - winner of The Les Dawson Award at the Manchester Comedy festival in 2003, beating a shortlist including Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan, Ken Dodd and Caroline Aherne.
His other credits include roles in Phoenix Nights, The Forsyte Sage, Always and Everyone, Casualty 1907, The Johnny and Inel Show, All at Sea, Emmerdale, Doctor Who: The Sixth Doctor Adventures and Hollyoaks, along with the films Monk Dawson and Six Minutes to Midnight.
He has also written articles for The Guardian and The Independent broadsheets and is a frequent broadcaster on BBC Radio.
He is the partner of Cherylee Houston, who has appeared as Izzy Armstrong in the programme since 2010. The character of Fergus Dunford was created in 2021 to allow the pair to record their scenes remotely, in their own home, as Houston was shielding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The couple used a camera and sound equipment delivered by the Coronation Street crew.
