Tim Thomas appeared in Coronation Street as the Master of Ceremonies at the Miss Bettabuy competition in March 1991.
He also appeared in Casanova, The Sweeney, Seeing Red and, in the cinema, at the third of the Four Weddings and a Funeral.
As a member of the group Telltale, he co-wrote and performed the theme tune to children's TV favourite Rainbow.
Previously, he worked as a script editor at Granada Television.
