On the 9th September 1968 Dave Smith bought Gamma Garments on Rosamund Street in order to convert it into a florists and he employed Elsie Tanner as manageress. In November 1968, Elsie went a supposed business trip with Dave and Emily Nugent and Lucille Hewitt helped run the premises in her absence.
On the 15th October 1969, Elsie had a row with Dave over her supposed timekeeping and resigned on the spot.
A couple of months later in December 1969, Dave sold the shop to successful businessman Alan Howard who also bought the shop next door and converted it into Alan Howard's Salon.
The shop was occasionally referred to in dialogue as "The Posy Bowl" despite the front door sign clearly stating "The Pink Posy".
