The Kids from Coronation Street title

The Kids from Coronation Street was a documentary focusing on the child and teenage actors of Coronation Street. Several interviewees were featured, most of whom were current or former teenage actors on the series. It aired on 30th November 2004 and was narrated by Matthew Kelly.

The first part of the programme had actors describe when they first learned they had landed their roles, while others discussed their first day on set. Other discussions were on the worst clothes they had to wear, and when they had to film kissing scenes.

The next part focused on baby and young child actors, and the difficulties that could arise having them on set, while actors who had originally been cast as newborns discussed how they landed their roles. This was followed by acting tutor Carol Godby being interviewed in relation to her students who had landed roles in the series. With a focus on Sam Aston, Carol and actors who played his on-screen family discussed working with him, while Sam himself had a short interview.

After interviews with Dawn Acton and Anne Kirkbride on how they worked together, several actors discussed doing fight scenes and singing scenes, which was followed by an interview with Davy Jones on his role as Colin Lomax, before he landed worldwide fame as a member of the pop group "The Monkees".

Some actors discussed how their roles helped them financially, while others recounted the difficulties that being in the spotlight had created for them. Former actors talked about the difficulties of having to leave their roles, while also revealing their more recent jobs. Five of the former actors (Dawn Acton, Joe Gilgun, Warren Jackson, Davy Jones and Lynsay King) were shown returning to the set where they met with William Roache and Dawn was reunited with Anne Kirkbride. The final part of the documentary featured actors describing memorable moments they had experienced as soap stars off the set.
