Leonard Swindley tries his hand at super salemanship. His task from Mr Parbold is to land a big order for Dobson and Hawks for a school uniform concession from the headmistress of the local girls school, Miss Buxton, known at all as "Frankenstein's Grandmother". Swindley's old-world charm has made him a big hit with the ladies of Dobson and Hawks. And so far, the headmistress seems equally impressed. An intimate lunch for two in the canteen is planned to close the deal and Mrs Edgeley, the canteen manageress, spares neither care nor money in preparing it. With so much on his mind Swindley finds his first taste of expense account living rather sour and by the time the coffee comes round he is on the wrong end of the sales line when Miss Buxton gets Swindley to donate all of his annual expenses allowance to the school to help fund a new shower block. Victory is Swindley's though when Miss Buxton, impressed by his charm and manners, gives Dobson and Hawkes the uniform concession, greatly impressing Mr Parbold.
