Terence was the parter of Martin, the Mayor of Weatherfield, and both were invitees to a soiree held by Sally Metcalfe in July 2016.

The social-climbing Sally had been elected as a councillor four months' before and was also in a bitter dispute of one-upmanship with next-door neighbour Yasmeen Nazir, both vying for social dominance in the street like a working-class Mapp and Lucia. On this occasion the odds seemed stacked in Sally's favour with Martin and Terence on the guest list, along with most of her friends in the area whereas Yasmeen could only drum up her family, Roy Cropper, Cathy Matthews and Baheen Iqbal, the president of WART. With nibbles provided by Weatherfield’s most exclusive delicatessen, Sally welcomed Martin and Terence but had to grit her teeth when they brought their beloved cockapoo Barry with them. Things started to go wrong when Yasmeen burst in complaining about the loud music. The front door was left open, and Barry took his opportunity to wander.

Sally dragooned her guests into organised search parties, though most decamped to the Rovers when her back was turned, whilst laying the blame squarely with Yasmeen. There were two happy results: Sally and Yasmeen searched together and in the process really got to know one another better; and upon their return to 4 Coronation Street, they found Barry was already happily reunited with Martin and Terence, though on the orders of Tim Metcalfe and Sharif Nazir the ladies had not been informed in order to teach them a lesson about their endless bickering.

When Sally met up with Martin (and Barry) at a council event in April 2017, he informed her that Terence couldn't be there as he was indulging in his campanology hobby in Sudbury.
