No of appearances[]
Thanks for adding this, Karen - I keep forgetting this change to the template!!--Jtomlin1uk 08:38, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
- No problem, John. You've done all the hard work by creating the lengthy List of appearance pages! --Karen2310 09:00, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
- I find them a nice "no-brainer" in some ways. Already started work on Ken and Emily's in preparation for us having a complete set of cast lists!!--Jtomlin1uk 10:33, March 21, 2012 (UTC)
Davina Battersby[]
Shouldn't Les's first wife (established on screen) be included on this page? Stella Price was ultimately a retcon.
Adopting Chesney[]
For many years now Chesney has been listed as Les' adopted son, however this information was recently removed from Les' page (but still remains of Chesney, Leanne and Greg's, with Chesney being listed as the latter twos adopted sibling). Is there a reason for this change? Did Les ultimately not adopt Chesney? If so the other pages need changing too.
From what I can find out about the storyline (using Chesney's LOA page) it began on; 2nd April 2006, with Chesney starting to wonder about who his father was, and ended on; 28th April 2006, when Cilla finally came round to the idea and "gives a genuine and heart-warming speech to Genna the social worker about why Les is such a good dad to Chesney". The storyline, to my knowledge, wasn't brought up again but was heavily implied that Les had adopted Chesney - and every source I can find labels Les as Chensey's adopted father Xx-connor-xX (talk) 23:08, September 13, 2018 (UTC)
- Oh, there was actually mention to the storyline once more on; 30th April 2006, "Cilla gets a call from Genna, the social worker saying that Les has been recommended for adoption of Chesney. The Battersby-Browns throw a party due to their good news". I think it is pretty concrete that Les did infact adopt Chesney unless there is anything to suggest otherwise. - Thanks so much for the comprehensive investigation. I'll ask ITV for clarification.--Jtomlin1uk (talk) 08:40, September 14, 2018 (UTC)
Right, ITV's answer is: "It was not subsequently mentioned, so the formal adoption was never confirmed on screen. The process would have taken months following the events of 6281, but the showrunners at the time may not have felt the formalities were interesting enough to merit inclusion and that viewers would assume it ultimately went through. If Les had stayed on the show, the adoption situation would no doubt have been clarified in dialogue eventually, but as it is, I'm afraid it can be interpreted either way!" So, as there was never any clarifation on screen of any adoption so we cannot say on this site as a fact that it was a given.--Jtomlin1uk (talk) 07:50, September 18, 2018 (UTC)
