Music[]
Random question: what's with the music in Bettabuys? Is this a supermarket phenomenon I've never encountered or done just for the programme? David (talk) 19:48, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
- Oh, David, you are showing your youthful age (you swine, you!) The supermarket experience of the 1970s, 80s and I suppose the early 1990s wasn't complete with what used to be called "muzak" playing away in the background. I suppose you wouldn't call my place of employment a supermarket, as such - although we do sell pretty much bits of everything - and we still have some really "wonderful" muzak (not) on a loop that plays consistantly annoying songs all day every day! --Karen2310 (talk) 13:34, August 2, 2012 (UTC)

Name[]
It appears we've been getting it wrong all these years. Bettabuy is the store's name, according to the signs on-screen. I just checked and it was that way from 1989 to 1994. I'll take care of the link changes. David (talk) 11:45, August 4, 2016 (UTC)

Store location[]
Hi all, is it ever explicitly stated that Bettabuy is on Albert Road? I'm aware that in early 1994, Eric Firman purchased the Albert Road branch of Bettabuy and rebranded it as a Firman's Freezers, though as Bettabuy still appeared on our screens until the end of 1994, I wouldn't say that this is the Albert Road branch.
The eventual change of location from Albert Road to Albert Street is referenced just after the Freshco takeover in 1998.BlancheHunt (talk) 18:37, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
