Sylvia Ogden was the daughter of Stan and Hilda Ogden. Sylvia and her brother Tony were taken into council care after Stan beat them mercilessly in his drunken rages. Like Tony, Sylvia never appeared in Weatherfield.

Sylvia along with her brother Tony were originally meant to appear in the series itself and a script was even written and rehearsed for Tony but not recorded due to the 1964 ITV Strike. In 1976 Hilda had mentioned she only had two children (Irma and Trevor) seemingly meaning that Sylvia no longer exists.
