Sydney-Leigh Martin (born 18th October 2001 in Bury) has appeared on Coronation Street as Betsy Swain since June 2024.
She originally applied for two smaller roles at the beginning of 2024, prior to being invited to apply for the role of Betsy two weeks later, which she was given after a two-month audition process. Her role in Coronation Street is her first televised acting role, with the then 22-year old actress working in a supermarket before she was cast as Betsy.
On stage, she appeared in productions including Port, California Suite, Days of Wine and Roses, The Visit and Christmas with the Tricksters.
