Susan Cookson (born 20th April 1965 in Manchester) is an English television actress who appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as building society manager Mrs Briscoe who in January 1998 dealt with Ian Jenkins's complaint about suspicious activity on his account; and returned to the programme in the recurring role as Callum Logan's mother Marion from March 2015 to June 2016. The role of Marion was recast in October 2019, likely due to Susan's commitment to Emmerdale at the time.

Susan is probably better known as portraying Dr Maggie Coldwell in the medical drama Casualty between 2005 and 2008 (followed by two guest returns in 2009 and 2015). Her other credits include roles in Queer as Folk, Emmerdale, Early Doors and Waterloo Road.

She was married to the late actor Malcolm Scates who also portrayed several roles on the programme. The couple had two children.
