Stewart Howson appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in July 1981 as the photographer at the first wedding of Ken Barlow and Deirdre Langton; and he returned to the programme in June 1990 as a reporter for the Weatherfield Gazette.
His other credits include roles in Byker Grove, Out of the Blue, Emmerdale, Badger, Heartbeat, Trial & Retribution, Doctors, Fat Friends, The Bill, Steel River Blues, Silent Witness and Wolfblood.
Film roles include Love Actually, Collusion and Thunderbirds.
On stage he appeared in productions of Up 'N' Under, The Old Curiosity Shop and Casement.
On radio, he was heard in Festival and The Saturday Play.
He is also a playwright with many productions to his credit including Are We In Here?, Behind Yon Hill, Betty's Mirror, Blue Skies, Country Voices, Fast Woman, Ocean's Five and a Half, On Your Bike, Quay Moments (In A Relationship), Rallying Round, Sherlock Holmes And the Tiger Of San Pedro, Staying Here?, Tartuffe, These Things Do Happen as well as dramatisations of A Christmas Carol, Great Expectations, Mary Barton and The Old Curiosity Shop.
