Steve Plytas (born 9th January 1913 in Constantinople, Ottoman Empire, died 27th December 1994 in Surrey) appeared in Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as cafe owner Leo Bonarti in July and August 1961; and he returned to the programme as delicatessen owner Mike Nikopolos in March 1976.
His other credits include Compact, The Avengers, Danger Man, Doctor Who, Dixon of Dock Green, Fawlty Towers and The Saint, along with blockbuster films such as On Her Majesty's Secret Service, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace and Batman.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Variation on a Theme, Murder Turns the Key, The Night of the Iguana, The Laundry, The Mousetrap and A Touch of Spring.
