Stephen Yardley (born 24th March 1942 in Ferrensby, North Yorkshire) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in May 1965 as Michael Grafton, a young toff from the Cheshire set who bullied Dennis Tanner during an outing to Oulton Park; and he returned to the programme in October 1974 as property developer Martin Barrett, who had a brief holiday fling with Bet Lynch in Majorca.
Graduating from RADA in 1963, he had major roles as Kenny Craig in United!, Harry Fisher in The Doctors, Ken Masters in Howards' Way and Vince Farmer in Family Affairs. Other credits include Z Cars, Tom Grattan's War, The Roads to Freedom, Harriet's Back in Town, New Scotland Yard, Crown Court, Doctor Who, The XYY Man, A Tale of Two Cities, Blood Money and Widows.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Much Ado About Nothing, An Evening of Original and Macabre Theatre, The Late Edwina Black, Old Times and The Country Wife.
