The Stemmington Nursery was an expensive pre-school educational establishment chosen by Steve McDonald for his Leanne Battersby's son Oliver Battersby when he was concerned about his development. He described it to Dev Alahan as "proper posh" as well as not being too far away and catering for each child's individual development. He and Leanne made an appointment to see the manager there but Oliver fell seriously ill within hours of viewing the facility and tests proved he had the serious mitochondrial disorder, forcing them to abandon any plans to enroll the child.
