Stella Tanner (born "Sarah Stella Tanner" on 1st January 1925 in Whitechapel, London, died 26th March 2012 in Wandsworth, London) appeared on Coronation Street intermittently between August 1971 and August 1972 as Laura Howard, salon proprietor and first wife of Alan Howard.

She and her sister, Frances, formed "The Tanner Sisters", making hundreds of appearances on television and radio in the 1950s in that medium.

In an acting capacity, she was credited for television roles in Sykes and A..., The Rag Trade, First Night, Emergency-Ward 10, Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, Mrs. Thursday, Nicholas Nickleby, Take Three Girls, The Expert, Budgie, Crown Court, Marked Personal, The Case of Eliza Armstrong, The Changes, My Son Reuben, Q6, Goodbye Darling, Brookside, The Bright Side, Never the Twain, The Bill, EastEnders and Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married.

On stage, she appeared in productions of The Rag Trade, Is There Intelligent Life on Earth?, Liza of Lambeth, Forty Love, Fiddler on the Roof, Bill Kenwright's Stepping Out, Pommies, Island Life and The Killing of Sister George.
