Stanley Llewelyn Stennett MBE (born 30th July 1925 in Pencoed, Wales; died 26th November 2013 in Cardiff) appeared on Coronation Street in November 1976 as Archie Crabtree, brother of Hilda Ogden.
Serving in the army during World War II, he also worked in entertainment with the group "Harmaniacs". Becoming the resident comedian on the radio show Welsh Rarebit in 1940, he was also a regular guest on The Black and White Minstrel Show.
Best remembered for his role as mechanic Sid Hooper on Crossroads from 1982 to 1987, his other "straight" television credits included roles in Taff Acre, The Old Devils, Heartbeat, Doctors, Casualty and Stella.
He was awarded the MBE in the 1979 New Year Honours List for services to entertainment and charities, the special guest on the edition of This Is Your Life, transmitted on 5th January 1983 and his autobiography, Fully Booked was published in 2010.
