The Sonographer based at Weatherfield General conducted scans on four Coronation Street residents:

Julie Carp and her partner Brian Packham attended their first scan in April 2012 and were understandably worried when the sonographer could find no trace of the foetus. Consultant radiologist Philip Shen subsequently broke the news that Julie had a growth on her ovary which had given a false positive pregnancy test reading.

Michelle Connor and her husband Steve McDonald had their first scan carried out in October 2016. The sonographer confirmed that there was a strong heartbeat and the baby looked healthy. While Michelle was overjoyed, Steve was preoccupied by news he'd received from his father Jim. It transpired that Jim had been diagnosed with the genetic disorder Myotonic Dystrophy, and both Steve and the unborn child were also at risk.

Nicola Rubinstein got driven to the hospital by her father Pat Phelan in early February 2018 after experiencing some bleeding and feared she could be losing the baby. Both Phelan and father of the baby Gary Windass were present as the scan got underway, where the sonographer revealed that Nicola was expecting a healthy baby boy.

In October of that year, Sinead Tinker and her partner Daniel Osbourne attended their baby's twelve-week scan, where once again the sonographer confirmed that the foetus was healthy. Daniel left the hospital as Sinead had told him that she was meeting with a friend there, but she approached the sonographer again, admitting that she was experiencing persistent bleeding. An examination by an obstetrician was speedily arranged, who then consulted with a colleague. Sinead was informed that she had a lump on her cervix which could potentially be cancerous.
