Skipton is a market town in North Yorkshire. Located sixteen miles north-west of Bradford, its historical growth was based on its market but also its cotton mills and connections to the major industrial cities of the north through the canal system. Today it has a population of over 14,000 and a major employer is the Skipton Building Society.
Bet Lynch accompanied lorry driver Frank Bradley on a delivery job he had to make in the town in November 1970, while Norris Cole and Kirk Sutherland travelled there in November 2002 to buy a Shih Tzu dog to replace Rita Sullivan's "Mr Woo" who had died after Norris had fed it chocolates.
