Sister Hendry was on duty at Weatherfield General after Liz McDonald gave birth to Katherine prematurely on 1st January 1992. Liz and Jim had been informed by Doctor Swann that Katie's chances weren't very good. At one point, Liz saw Hendry talking with another nurse and correctly guessed that Katie had died and they were about to break the news.
Shortly thereafter, Hendry informed Jim that Liz had been moved into a private ward. Jim took the opportunity to ask the nurse to keep the hospital chaplain away from Liz's bedside as they weren't a religious family.
