Simone was a potential purchaser of 13 Coronation Street in June 2012. The house had been put on the market by Steve McDonald as part of his feud with Tracy who he had been duped into marrying in the January when she interceded to break up his relationship with ex-wife Becky. Having failed to annoy Tracy sufficiently by dividing the house into two flats and installing Beth Tinker and her son Craig as tenants, the house sale was his next ploy.
Having no wish to find herself homeless, Beth allied herself with Tracy to make any viewings as unsuccessful as possible. Simone's first view was of a supposedly ill Craig on the sofa, coughing away as Beth pleaded with Tracy not to make them homeless. The pièce de résistance though was that Craig was cuddling his pet rat Darryl which Beth claimed was one of several which infested the house. A horrified Simone made a hasty excuse that the property was just not for her and left almost as soon as she had arrived.
