Simon Prebble (born 13th February 1942 in Croydon) appeared in Coronation Street in June 1962 as Geoff, a young man who tried to unsuccessfully chat up Sheila Birtles, Doreen Lostock and Christine Hardman at a bowling alley.

He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and in a long career he has also appeared in Emergency-Ward 10, Compact, Dixon of Dock Green, Sergeant Cork, The Man in Room 17, The Wednesday Play, Softly Softly, The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Rumpole of the Bailey, ITV Playhouse and Loving.

On stage, his work includes a production of Hamlet with Ian McKellen while on radio he was heard on several productions of Morning Story.

He also worked as a continuity announcer for Southern Television and hosted a daily news magazine programme London's Day on Capital Radio. He further concentrated on such work as the promo voice of Thames Television, and from 1984 he was the announcer for the British version of the game show The Price Is Right. He moved to the United States of America in 1990 where he worked on the soap opera As The World Turns and specialised in voice-overs and audio books with over 750 titles to his credit.
