Shirley Cain (born "Shirley Roberts" on 30th April 1935 in Rowley Regis, West Midlands) appeared on Coronation Street in October 1967 as Elsie Tanner's Altrincham neighbour, Jenny Hunt.

Graduating from RADA in 1954, her other credits include A Matter of Degree, No Hiding Place, Compact, The Desperate People, Out of the Unknown, Great Expectations, Murder Must Advertise, Upstairs, Downstairs, Love for Lydia, People Like Us, Malice Aforethought, Pride and Prejudice, God's Wonderful Railway, Diamonds, Dombey & Son, The Bill, The Pickwick Papers, EastEnders, The Darling Buds of May and The Ruth Rendell Mysteries.

On stage, she appeared in productions of Bell, Book and Candle and Plaintiff in a Pretty Hat, along with Sailor, Beware, An Ideal Husband, Hay Fever, The Flip Side, Who Killed Santa Claus and Lady Susan for the Windsor Theatre Company.

She was married to senior BBC executive John Clifford Cain from 1954 until his death in 2013.
