Sheila was a nurse employed at The Oakhill Hospice who showed Daniel and Sinead Osbourne round their facilities. Sinead had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and was looking over the hospice for its palliative care facilities. Sheila arrived later for their appointment, striding through the entrance doors in her motorcycle leathers and apologising for her tardiness. She sensed Daniel's disapproval of being there and empathised with his feelings of it being the last place they wanted to be in. The tour began with a view of the Pilates class, the news that a brilliant new masseur would be coming in that day, and a viewing of the therapy room.

Whilst Sinead was being given a foot massage on the house, Sheila changed into her nurse's uniform and chatted with Daniel, saying she understood how he felt and knew that many partners wanted to provide their own care at home, but they would always need help and assistance and the hospice provided that for him as well. Asked if he had any questions, Daniel enquired how Sheila could do a job like hers. The caring woman told him that she had loved her job for the past twelve years, helping patients and their families. Daniel confessed his own feelings of helplessness, just before a happy Sinead returned. Sheila confirmed to her that she could bring baby Bertie in with her if she were to make use of the hospice and left the two of them to discuss their options. In the end, Daniel got his wish that he was the one to look after her in her final days in their Coronation Street flat.
