Shareen was one of numerous children that had been fathered by Dev Alahan by women working in his shops. Despite knowing of her existence, Dev attempted to keep his wife Sunita oblivious to the truth but all was revealed when Dev's ex-partner Ravinder Kalirai, mother to his daughter Amber, told her.
Sunita tracked down Shareen, a young woman working in Dev's Gorton shop, and was horrified to find her holding a baby - believing that Dev had cheated on her. However, Dev protested his innocence and revealed that Shareen was actually his daughter. Sunita contemplated having an abortion while carrying his children, but ultimately went through with the pregnancy giving birth to twins Aadi and Asha Alahan.
