Shane Rimmer (born "Shane Lance Deacon" on 28th May 1929 in Toronto, Canada; died 29th March 2019 in Barnet, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between August 1967 and December 1970 as American G.I. Joe Donelli, who confessed to killing Steve Tanner before committing suicide; and he returned to the programme between July and August 1988 as Malcolm Reid, the adoptive father of Audrey Roberts's son, Stephen.

Shane had a musical career in his home country during the 1950s as a singer and a radio DJ. He hosted the musical television series Come Fly with Me in 1958 and joined singing trio "The Three Deuces" in the following year, leading to performances in the UK.

Most famous for his voice work in Gerry Anderson series Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and Joe 90, he was said to have appeared (mostly uncredited) in more James Bond films than any other actor besides normally recurring cast members, and also appeared in Danger Man, The Saint, Return of the Saint, The Persuaders!, The Protectors, Doctor Who, Van der Valk, Space 1999 and UFO.

Other film roles include Silver Bears, Hanover Street, Gandhi, Spy Game, The Hunger, A Kiss Before Dying, The People That Time Forgot and the 2005 Hollywood blockbuster Batman Begins.

On stage, he appeared in productions of True West, Arsenic and Old Lace and Death of a Salesman.
