The Security Guard worked at Weatherfield Crown Court where the trial of Clayton Hibbs for the murder of Kylie Platt was due to held in October 2016. Grieving widower David Platt formed a plan in his mind to murder Clayton, knowing that any sentence passed down on him as a juvenile wouldn't be severe. He therefore went to the court on a recce and passed the through the main scanner in the entrance hall. As it registered some metal object on David, the guard manually scanned him while David passed the time remarking to the guard about the nature of what people tried to smuggle in. He received no answer and was asked to move on.
