Scott Emberton was a petty criminal friend and rival of Johnny Connor.
In their youth Scott and Johnny committed a series of crimes together. On 26th February 1980, Scott burgled the Pickstock Warehouse in Manchester, making away with over £17,000 worth of stock, while Johnny acted as a getaway driver. Security guard Grant Newsome attempted to stop the pair from leaving and in a panicked attempt to escape Johnny hit Grant with the vehicle and fled the scene leaving Scott behind. Scott then subjected Grant to a vicious assault before making his own escape. Following the incident Grant suffered from depression and turned to drink which led to him dying from cirrhosis of the liver in 1983. Scott was eventually found guilty of the crime and imprisoned, however he did not reveal Johnny's involvement.
