Sarah Jane Thurstan (born June 1950 in Hampstead, London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in both October 1995 and June 2002 as Caroline Clegg, wife of Gordon and daughter-in-law of Betty Williams (the part had been played by Elaine Donnelly in 1982); and she returned to the programme in February 1999 as Judge Robertson, presiding over the custody hearing for the Websters' children.
Her other credits include roles in The Gentle Touch, Prime Suspect, September Song, Heartbeat, Emmerdale, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Hollyoaks, Wycliffe, Casualty, Where the Heart Is, Always and Everyone, Silent Witness, EastEnders, Mrs Brown's Boys and Rosamunde Pilcher, along with the 2005 film Asylum.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Blithe Spirit and The Site.
She is the owner and managing director of Performance Link Ltd, established in 2001, which specialises in bespoke communication and personal development programmes and workshops.
