Sandra James-Young appeared in Coronation Street in April and May 2014 as Maddie Heath's social worker Selina Rowley

Film roles include Captives and the short Paradise Omeros. On stage she has worked for both the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company and her credits include parts in After the Fall, Murmuring Judges, Recruiting Officer, The Wind in the Willows, A Jovial Crew, Tamburlaine the Great, the Odyssey, The School of Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Blues for Railton, A Christmas Carol, Coups and Calypsos, Dancing on Black Water, King Lear, Little Shop of Horrors, Mortal, The Adventures of Robin Hood, Cinderella the Real True Story, The Basset Table, Wild Iris and The Man Who Lit up the World.
