Sandra Burrows was the estranged wife of Danny Burrows, Lucille Hewitt's boyfriend in 1974.

During the marriage, Sandra managed the couple's finances as Danny didn't hand in money consistently. Danny was a mechanic whose main interest was motorbikes; he was mothered to an extent by Sandra and totally uninterested in starting a family with her. Around October 1973, Sandra threw Danny out, seeing no future in a marriage with no children. They kept in contact with Danny paying Sandra maintenance rather than forking out for a divorce.

In March 1974, at around the time Danny moved his new girlfriend Lucille into his bedsit, he dropped his payments to Sandra. Sandra didn't mind at first but when she was laid off at work five weeks later, she needed a lump sum to buy an interview outfit and traced Danny through his mother to collect the missed payments. Turning up unannounced at Danny's bedsit, she found Lucille there by herself. Lucille knew that Danny was married but he'd told her that he and Sandra had been separated for eighteen months and had no contact with each other. Lucille assumed that Sandra had returned to cause trouble and was surprised to meet a demure woman who didn't mind that she and Danny were living together. Sandra put Lucille straight regarding her and Danny's breakup and Lucille, siding entirely with Sandra, paid her the requested £5 out of her own pocket. Danny had also resisted committing to Lucille and when he told her that marriage wasn't on the table, she packed her bags and left him.
