Sally Ann Edwards (born April 1954) appeared on Coronation Street in May 1987 as Dr McLean, attending to Alf Roberts after he had suffered a minor heart attack.

She trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama.

Her other credits include roles in A Kind of Loving, The Practice, Bulman, Dramarama, Out of the Blue, Wycliffe, London Bridge, Merseybeat, The Bill, Holby City, Wire in the Blood, Doctors, Silent Witness, Casualty and Holby Blue.

On stage, she appeared in productions of Pericles, The Duchess of Malfi and Earwig for the Royal Shakespeare Company along with Fanshen and Broken Glass for the National Theatre. Other works include Death of a Salesman, Way Upstream, Gaslight, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Browning Version, The Twelve Pound Look and Maskerade.

She is married to actor Philip Whitchurch, who himself appeared on Coronation Street along with its spin-off, The Brothers McGregor.
