S & T Garage located in Bridge Street, Weatherfield was the auto repair business jointly owned by Ron Sykes and Brian Tilsley in a 60/40 partnership. Purchased in August 1982 with the money they earned from working in Qatar, Brian put £2,000 into the business to cover his 40% share.
By the following March, Brian accused Ron of not pulling his weight in the partnership - Ron retaliated with a buy me out or sell out ultimatum, and Brian went to the bank for a loan and bought Ron out to become sole owner. The business was renamed Tilsley's Garage.
