Russell Dixon (born 1950 in Barrow-in-Furness, died 15th July 2023 in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Ex-offender Dave Barnes, appearing between December 1978 and January 1979, whose wife Karen was receiving reading lessons from Ken Barlow
- Corrupt councillor Harry Potts between October 1992 and September 1993, with a brief return to the role between June and July 1995
- Councillor Henry Wilkins between December 2012 and January 2013.
He also played the part of Ena Sharples in three episodes of the programme adapted for public performance which were staged at the Lass O'Gowrie pub in Manchester during January 2012 under the umbrella title of 1968 Corrie by Jack Rosenthal.
His other credits included roles in Crown Court, Wood and Walters, EastEnders, Making Out, Love and Reason, Heartbeat, Bugs, Extremely Dangerous, The Vice, Peak Practice, Fat Friends, Northern Lights, Emmerdale and The Case along with the films Liam, The Emperor's New Clothes and It's Your Move.
On stage, he appeared in several productions including The Workhouse Donkey, The Case Of The Workes' Plane, Woyzeck, Barefoot in the Park, The Double Dealer, In Despair I Turned to Shakespeare, Sell-Out, Uncle Vanya, A Chorus of Disapproval, A Small Family Business, Pericles, The Duchess of Malfi, Iolanthe, Follies, Charley's Aunt, Oedipus, Time of My Life and All My Sons.
