Rupert Sinclair Hill was born 15th June, 1978 in Solihull. He appeared in a number of roles in television soaps such as EastEnders and Brookside before playing the part of Cameron Davenport in the Channel 5 serial Family Affairs from 2002 to 2004. This brought him to the wider attention of casting directors and he landed the role of Jamie Baldwin in Coronation Street, first appearing in Episode 5805 (19th July 2004) and departing in Episode 6764 (29th February 2008), although he made a one-off appearance in Episode 7585 (24th April 2011).

An accomplished musician, he is also a stand-up comic. While continuing his acting career he is now owner of a pub in Manchester and in a relationship with his on-screen girlfriend Jenny Platt who played Violet Wilson. On 11th April 2010 a daughter named Matilda was born to the couple, and they married on 11th May 2013.

Subsequent credits include roles in Midsomer Murders, Crime Stories and Hollyoaks.
